Death of the President of Namibia

The team of Grand Capital would like to express our sincere condolences to the country of Namibia and its people on the recent passing of Hage Gottfried Geingob on February 4, 2024, following repeated cancer treatments.

This remarkable politician and prolific political scientist lived a colorful life, receiving his brilliant education in the United States and subsequently being appointed to the United Nations Secretariat. Such a fast-paced career eventually led him to become Minister of Trade and Industry, three-time Prime Minister of Namibia (and the first person ever to hold the title), and finally, in 2015, the much-admired President of his native country.

He left behind a rich legacy of publications and several important buildings named after him.
