Daylight Saving Time – Trading Schedule Changes

We would like to inform you about upcoming adjustments to our trading hours due to the United States Daylight Saving Time (DST) change scheduled for March 10th, 2024.

Changes to Trading Hours:

  • To maintain alignment with US markets during DST, our trading hours will be shifted back by one hour.
  • Server time will be adjusted to GMT+3 (currently GMT+2) to ensure the MT4 server still opens at midnight.

Impact on Platform Availability:

  • Sundays, March 10th, 17th, and 24th: Platforms will open one hour earlier.
  • Fridays, March 15th, 22nd, and 29th: Platforms will close one hour earlier.
  • March 31st: When the EU switches to summer time, server time will remain GMT+3, and standard trading hours will resume.

Key Points to Remember:

  • The FX market will open and close one hour earlier during this period.
  • However, the FX market opening on our MT4 server will remain at 00:00 due to the GMT+3 setting.

What is Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Taking place on Monday’s third week in January every year, MLK day is a federal holiday in the United States that marks Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday. King’s actual date of birthday is January 15, 1929, but it is celebrated on a Monday every year.

King was integral to the progress of civil rights for Black Americans in the United States during the Civil Rights Movement taking place in the 1950s and 60s. This was a movement for social justice in the United States, where activists and civilians protested discrimination and segregation based on race in federal and state law, helping Black Americans gain equal rights legally across the United Stated of America.

Daylight Saving Time Ends – Changed Trading Hours

Because of EU Daylight Saving Time ending in Europe, there will be changes to the market trading hours for specific instruments from Monday, October 31. As of Monday, November 7, 2022, all markets will reopen as normal.

MT4 for iOS removed from App Store

The Metatrader 4 (MT4) for iOS is not available to download from the Apple App Store.

This only affects traders who wished to download the app on their iPhones or iPads. Existing clients with the platforms already downloaded on their Apple devices can continue to use the iOS version.

New iPhone and iPad users can trade on the MT4 Webtrader. The web platform allows you to open and close positions without downloading any software.

Android users remain unaffected as the MT4 app is available on the Google Play Store.

Due to Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, the HK50 will be closed on Monday, September 12, 2022.
